Is it just me, or does the bunny in this Joe Ledbetter zodiac series look an awful lot like someone's spirit animal?





By the by, I woke up this morning to find that, for maybe the 6th or 7th time in recent weeks, my entire story collection was unavailable, due to LJ-weirdness.

Anybody have ideas about alternate places to store this stuff? I REALLY dislike the interface at fanfiction.net. I actually have my own domain, so I suppose there's that. I've just started to wonder if LJ is going SPROINGG, and if so, whether my fics will disappear in a puff of smoke. (And whether that will ultimately be for the good of the universe.)

My stuff is also nowhere but here and my hard drive. Well, some of the art is on dA, but I hate that site.

As for your question, only in that it's a brown bunny. Toki's is a half human mutant freaky thing.

You can post fic on DA, but you'd probably have to chop your chapters down into a krillions billions pieces because I don't think they can handle large file sizes. Probably more trouble than it's worth.

As I've told you before, if it has Mythklok on it, you can do whatever you want.

You can post fic on dA, but they have lots of stupid rules about what's allowed. And it's a bitch to uplaod shit (for me) because it sometimes just won't cooperate.
Other people love it though, so whatever.

In actuality, yes, Toki's spirit animal is pretty hideous to look at. I prefer the cutesy bunny.

This is another one that seems like Fic Waiting to Happen.

I sort of wonder at the spirit animal choices. I assume there was some point to it. Octopickles is awesome. And Nathan is from Florida, so I see the gator reference. I wonder at MurderTiger though. And shouldn't Skwisgaar be something like a rabbit that mates and has a million offspring?

I've been toying with another spirit animal fic, but nothing concrete yet. Just in the planning stages right now.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Those dreads just scream "octopus". Murdertiger, I'm not so sure of. He did say it would be awesome if he were some kind of a snow beast, but a white tiger is as far from the snow as you can get. Perhaps the snow leopard didn't look mean enough.

I can see your logic with Skwisgaar, but I think it's supposed to be the cosmic joke that the rest of the guys get these awesome predators, while Toki gets to be a bunny. The bottom of the food chain. But the joke's on them, because Toki is a demon bunny extreme. I don't know why they made Skwis a bird, though, he would have done better as an artic wolf.

I've posted fic on dA and once I figured out how to do it, haven't had issues with them. Nothing that I've posted is as long as what you've written though.

Oh, I wouldn't post fics on DA, I'd just get an account to keep up with folks I know who are talented. :D

I know LJ's had a couple of DDOS attacks in the last week, which is why they were down. You can check here for status.

Fanfic.net also has a policy against NC-17 stuff - not that I think your stuff really is, but if someone complains about it, or staff stumbles across it, it'll get removed.

I dunno, I've had a DA account for about 5 years; and yes you can post written works there; my problem is that I always forget it's there, and don't look for it. I like the layout, and it's pretty customizable. I guess what I really like is that you can make a favorites gallery of all the stuff you come across that you like. I also like the topic groups they started about a year ago (I have a marine life one). I do NOT trust their CEO though. Shortly after I joined he fired the partner who had created the site and there was a lot of uproar about it. He seems like one of those junior, very corporate types who think they know what's best for art, and it turns out to be just the opposite, sometimes.

Other writer friends of mine post to Adultfanfic.net and Archive of Our Own, or crosspost to Dreamwidth - all of these having policies against censorship, as LJ has overreacted to "think of the children!" groups before and started deleting legitimate accounts right & left. Or there's MediaMiner.org - but that seems to have a similar feel to FFN, so you might not like that one either.

Those are so neat! I love the tigers too (lots of tigers in my family)!

I wasn't aware of the NC-17 policy on fanfic.net! I never really considered it, as I think the interface just looks scary and terrible. But that's good information to have. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I just can't see getting freaked over naughty fanfic when all you have to do is mistype a URL and you land on like 20 pr0n sites!!!

Hey, I wonder if I should finally get a Dreamwidth account? I've got a couple of friends over there. But like Tumblr, I kind of started watching it and then gave up. I think I couldn't find an account number last time or some such....

From what I understand, AO3 (Archive of Our Own) is a pretty damn good place to upload your fics to. AO3 is an offshoot of Dreamwidth, and I haven't heard anything bad about them yet.

DA also has an NC-17 policy, but if someone has a paid account there, no amount of complaining will get their stuff taken down, even if it's graphic.

That's interesting, because I KNOW I've seen naughtiness on DA!

I wouldn't post fic there, I only think about getting an account because several friends post there, and sometimes people like to lock stuff. And like Senorita said about assembling little favorites galleries.

But, sometimes I get too ambitious. :D
