I literally hadn't thought about this movie for 20 years until senoritafish mentioned it, but I asked for and received the Blu Ray of Wim Wenders' Wings of Desire this Xmas. Now I want to go to the library and see if I can spot Sariel there stealing somebody's pencil. After seeing Charles' outfit in Doublebookedklok, I really wanna ask Brendon if he's ever seen this movie.

BTW, I think I'm gonna have one more chapter done before we leave for our New Years vacation.

In two sentences: an angel falls in love with a trapeze artist and tries to become human. Peter Falk helps. (Yes, THAT Peter Falk.)

I love it to pieces. The angels are very sweet, but quite mysterious. It's a vey "movie" movie, with a lot of the atmosphere generated by the music and the gorgeous black and white photography. And it's European, so they don't assume you're stupid and want it all explained to you.

Ganesh is going to watch with Pickles. Sariel will come home and find them, and then decide he needs to have a relationship talk if his boyfriend insists on watching European art movies with the man who licked his chest.
